O ciclista, Nathan Van Hooydonck, de 27 anos, seguia de carro com a mulher grávida quando se sentiu mal e perdeu o controlo da viatura, causando um acidente.
Segundo os meio de comunicação belgas, o atleta acabou por embater contra outras viaturas ao avançar inadvertidamente num cruzamento.
De acordo com o CyclingNews, Nathan Van Hoodydonck foi reanimado no local.
